When Should You Live Stream?

Jul 01, 2026

This is a question that every Established Content Creator and Business Professional struggle with.   As a “Live” audience has a different viewing habit then your regular core target audience.

I know this factually as I have experienced it in real time, but I had never done a search as to why until now.

No matter the niche, “Live Streaming” is searched for with incredible regularity every week.   There are some broad key factors that drive this such as time of day, day of the week, and current events.

There is another factor that has become a real trend and that is YouTube is now the most watched service on TV’s.   This plays significantly into Live Streams as many people get home from work and rather than turning on a paid service, turn on YouTube and watch their favorite content creator while having dinner or to wind down and enjoy.

With that said, the most searched time for Live Streaming generally starts on Thursday and increases on Friday and Saturdays.   The searching for Live Streaming trails off rapidly on Sundays and then the cycle starts all over again on Monday.

So what does this tid bit of information mean to you?   If you are just getting started in the Live Streaming arena, then consider going Live on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday since that is the time that it is searched for the most, and I would add to that, picking a time of day that lends itself to the most opportunity for viewers to watch your Live Stream.

So get started building that Live Stream community and then see if a different day or night is more suited for your niche, topic or viewership.
